DIRECT TO GARMENT (DTG) or DYE SUBLIMATION

Should I use DTG?

DIRECT TO GARMENT

Also known as DTG printing, digital direct to garment printing, digital apparel printing, and inkjet to garment printing, is a process of printing on textiles and garments using specialized or modified inkjet technology. DTG was seen as a viable solution for low-quantity orders previously not possible because of the expensive setup process of screen printers.

USAGE

If your logo or message is in CMYK, a full color photograph or you have a short-run of cotton dark or light garments, or you want to create a sample of something bigger or better, DTG (direct to garment) is for you! Please read art specification for set-up guidelines.

TECHNOLOGY

Our new Epson f2000 digital garment printer is the newest in Direct to Garment Technology. Super fast, super accurate, this printer will print vibrant, full-color images in short, affordable runs.

  • CMYK color printing for photo quality images.
  • Use for short run or full color printing.
  • Best on 100% ringspun cotton.
  • Heat pressed for final curing.

TECHNIQUE

Original artwork can be in high-resolution raster or vector format. There are some specifics if you need actual “white” ink printed on a dark garment. Once your artwork is set up, your garment will run through a large inkjet printer using5 color heads and printing in CMYK and white. Next, the garment is cured using a heat press, and ready to go!

DYE SUBLIMATION

Dye-sublimation printing is a digital printing technology using full color artwork that works withpolyester and polymer-coated substrates. Also referred to as digital sublimation, the process is commonly used for decorating apparel, signs and banners, as well as novelty items such as cell phone covers, plaques, coffee mugs, and other items with sublimation-friendly surfaces. The process uses the science of sublimation, in which heat and pressure are applied to a solid, turning it into a gas through anendothermic reaction without passing through the liquid phase.

USAGE

If your logo or message is in CMYK, a full color photograph, you have a short-run of light polyester garments, or you want to create a sample of something bigger or better, Dye Sublimation is for you! Please read art specification for set-up guidelines.
